I was at NTUC today & when I went to the cashier, there was no Q! It's my lucky day. Then something really strange happen. I forgot my PIN for nets. I've the same PIN for years, must have used it for a thousand times. Yet now, all of a sudden I just couldn't remember it!
I just wish my brain had deleted something I didn't want to remember like the 2 years with my x boyfriend from hell! A long Q has formed behind me, I paid in cash- lucky still have some cash.
Went back to the office & told everyone what had happened- it seems almost everyone had something like that happening to them before. All except the younger staff ...oh no, am I getting old? So depressing now !

In these times of anguish what I need is serenity & calmness
Instead I get an endless parade of trivial frustrations.
Today I took off to calm my bruised ego & soul, after missing on the promotion again. They have decided to get an expert from outside :(( Went to ColdStorage to stock up on my snacks. Guess what, got stuck behind an old lady at cashpoint. To be fair I wasn't expecting her to be fast but it went on for so long that everyone along the line was beginning to boil!
First thing that got to me is her complete lack of preparation. You'd think that someone waiting in Q might go to the trouble of getting their card ready. But this inconsiderate old lady actually waited until the amount appear on the cash register screen before digging into her bag.
She has 3 different purses & seem to forgot which contains the 'member card'. She went through all three, 2 times before getting it right. After almost like an eternaity,the payment was done, still she linger there, trying to put her stuff into recycle bags she brought. The cashier 'tried' to help her to speed up the process as the Q is getting longer but she snap at the kind lady. Apparently she don't want anyone touching the things she had paid for, as if the kind cashier would 'steal' it !
I've finally done a good thing today, I've resisted killing that old bat !

I miss the promotion again!
Everyone told me: don't worry, your prayers will be answered!
When ever something goes wrong people always resort to saying that. Why would anyone think this is a comforting thing to say? It doesn't say what the answer will be. It's a bit like saying" your request for an overdraft extension will be answered.' It doesn't mean you'll get what you want.
