Making a living will ?
I was at a friend's mother wake, & bump into a few old friends I've not seen for a long time. One of them started asking us about what do we think about making a Living Will. She said when the time arrives , she don't want her family to have to make hard decisions about her care while they're already upset over her medical condition & she also want to make sure she receive the care she deserve. She decide that the considerate course of action , both for her loved ones & her future self is to take the time now to make some uncomfortable decisions about her end-of-life care.
She envision at the end of her life, her family's burden of grief is lightened by the fact that they know exactly what her final wishes are. Free from guilt & uncertainty, they are able to spend her wake joyfully celebrating a life well lived & swapping cherished stories of her humor, heart & good old fashion common sense. It does seem like a good idea to make a living will, she said it will be.
I was really impressed with all that. As we were all seriously contemplating over this, she kind of 'switched' gear & started talking about life insurance. Then we realized, what's happening.... she's an insurance agent !!!!! Oh Goodness .... too late, I felt a little like being trapped & cornered into a tight spot.
Then suddenly Richard ( the top boy of our year ) said "that's right, agree with what you said, thank
God, I've bought all the insurance I needed wayyyyyy....... back!". Always the smart one, we gratefully took the cue & quickly "confessed" that all of us did the same ...lol... She knew what's happening & was about to launch into another sales pitch when the monks started chanting & saved us ....lol....

Dear Charles
We have a new colleague Charles. Everything is interesting about him. Charles only eats 1 real meal a day. Of the highest quality, prepared by himself. He'll bring it from home & eats in the office. It's almost a Zen-like exercise, both in the preparation & the slow consumption. When further sustenance is necessary, it's Kit Kat, chips & Starbucks coffee.
He's so fit, puts most of the guys in the office to shame. He rides a bike, those macho Harley Davidson kind. Very cute with his tie & helmet & Ferragamo leather shoes. That's all for now ...haha..

All our insignificant problems ....
The other day during lunch our conversation turned ,as it naturally would to our problems. One colleague complained about her diet problem, another about a new salon who ripped her of & I started complaining about the increasing prices of the restaurant I frequent. Then someone in the group said , "These are really First World problems."
And we all shut up, having been told that our problems didn't matter. I myself didn't even know what that meant, but I wasn't about to say so in front of everyone else, having already been informed that my conversation was unworthy! If you look it up, First World problems are those experienced by people in wealthy, civilized countries, as compared with problems experienced by people in the Third World countries, like hunger.
Still I was kind of bugged, because everyone knows that the Third world has HUGE problems, but that's not where we live. So we have First World problems. We never said we had Worst World problems. they are still problems to us. And if we cant talk about First World problems. I might never utter another world. Also I wouldn't have anything to write about. That would be the death of all blogs!

Want to buy a sheep?
I had to tidy up my Boss's desk, check his mail & get things ready for him as he went on leave. As I was tidying up his stuff, I saw a rather strange catalog, it seem to be quite old, it's a Holiday catalog from Heifer International.
I
had never heard of the company before, like most pieces of junk
mail, I just put it into a small pile & leave it for him to sort through when he's back. A
few days later, in glancing around, I recognized that there was a
picture of a sheep on the cover. It caught my eye & being curious, I decided to flip through the catalog.
To my surprise, the catalog was to buy animals to give to other parts of the world. Sheep, goats, pigs, and even chicks, were available for purchase--among other things.
This just perplexed me. Not only because I wonder have my Boss been buying chickens & goats for some people he don't even know but that there's even an organization that exists to do such a thing.

A messy desk reflects a messy mind
Today I tell myself when I go to work tomorrow, I'll clean my desk. I just sms my colleague Mei & remind her to 'remind' me when she sees me tomorrow. See, I just read from some magazine ,that a messy desk reflects a messy mind. A messy house also does the same thing!
So.... I'm going to correct all that tomorrow. Well just receive sms from Mei:
Mei: why tm? why not before? tm special date?
me: I read it somewhere, messy desk reflects a messy mind
Mei: nonsense, my desk also damn messy, but my mind still very clear!!!
me: since when your mind is clear?
Mei: since like forever...(winking smiley)
me: your mind is never clear
Mei: my mind is always very clear
me: never
Mei :alwaysssssssssss !!!!

What do you think of job hopping?
No I'm not thinking of quitting, I like my job, my colleagues & boss. But I notice for the past 1 year , there's one peculiar position in my office which has a 6 times turn over. Yes, 6 new colleagues had come & gone within a year. The post?
Receptionist. It started with our beloved Jessica, who quit to have a baby. She had wanted to be a stay at home mum for the next 2 years looking after her first born child- noble. The next girl that came in was a 20 year old fresh poly graduate, it was her first job. We treated her so nice, by the time she left 2 months later, her mother bake a delicious cake & lots of cookies for us! We still check on her through facebook ....lol... she's still jobless !
Second girl that replaced the first completed her N-level, this was her third job, she was from sales previously. Again she said goodbye 2 months later to join insurance. She tried to sell to us, but all of us were quite cautious as she don't seem to know what she's selling. I guess the real issue was we were still quite mad for having to look for another girl, also without a receptionist we had to take turns doing it.
Third, fourth & fifth girls did not stay more then 2 months either. We finally hold a meeting to discuss the receptionist issue. Is the position jinks? What's the problem? The pay is not bad, It's a relatively simple job. Someone pointed out that's precisely the point, it's too simple, thus equate to being very boring for young girls. Our X-Jessica is a rare breed, she's one of us & enjoy the freedom of doing nothing much ....lol... I called her to tel her how much we missed her ....lol...
Finally Boss decided to hire someone older.
